“Shelter”, a feature documentary co-produced by Adventure Pictures and DocuCinema, recently shot in New Mexico and in Haiti. The film follows a new generation of architects, engineers, and designers who are creating innovative, sustainable housing designs for survivors of natural disasters around the world.

Shelter:connect the film’s educational initiative launched in early December with Caroline Markowitz at the helm; Producers Lee Schneider and Richard Neill have been leading workshops at architecture schools and NGOs around the country. Film Sprout founder Caitlin Boyle is consulting with the production team to design the film’s outreach program for colleges and universities.

Adventure Pictures and DocuCinema also collaborated on a short film for AIA/San Francisco’s Architecture in the City Festival, which attracts more than 20,000 people annually. The film was lensed by Richard Neill and co-directed by Lee Schneider and Richard Neill. Elastic Creative’s Carlos Cabralas directed the opening graphic animation sequence, and Nick Farago edited the piece which was color corrected at Video Arts.

Director of Photography Richard Neill shot in Hawaii and the Bay Area on a new National Geographic special for broadcast in early 2012. He also filmed segments for Investigation Discovery and several pilots for History Channel and Discovery. 

Adventure Pictures documentary “A Vision in Time” is currently in development. The film features interviews with key people involved in the design and engineering of UCSF’s new Ray and Dagmar Dolby Regeneration Medicine Building. The film charts the extraordinary challenges involved in building the award-winning stem cell research facility, designed by New York architect Rafael Viñoly.
